Shared Spaces Arts and Culture Grant Application
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS APPLICATION HAS CLOSED* SF New Deal is excited to announce an open call for individuals, groups, and organizations to apply for grant funding to activate Shared Spaces with outdoor performances, installations, and other cultural engagement activities. This investment, in partnership with the City of San Francisco’s Shared Spaces team, will create an opportunity for community engagement and connection to enhance the use of Shared Spaces in neighborhoods citywide. ELIGIBILITY: - Anyone can apply for projects in valid and permitted Shared Spaces (parklets and street closures) proposed anywhere within San Francisco. - Applicants do not have to be San Francisco residents to receive grant funds. - Funding can be used to continue and expand programming already underway, but can not be used to retroactively fund past projects. - Artists/Activators and Shared Spaces permit holders can apply individually to be matched with one another, or can apply together for site-specific activities. *** Please note that these grant funds should be used for artist/activator stipends and cannot be used for technical assistance or permitting. TIMELINE: - Priority review deadline closed on August 1, 2023, but applications will continue to be reviewed on an ongoing basis. - Due to the tremendous influx of applications, please expect some time before your application is reviewed. We recommend that you apply now for projects occurring in Summer/Fall of 2024. GRANT AMOUNTS: - Anticipated grant awards will be up to $10,000, depending on proposals received. Requests for awards exceeding $10,000 will be considered on a case by case basis. --- If you have questions regarding the grant opportunity, need support in completing an application, or need language support (available in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and English) please call 415-480-1185, or email sharedspaces@sfnewdeal.org.
